I have tweaked until I found some really good metal rhythm and lead sounds. I am using a PRS 7-string with D'Activator pickups and the DV Mark Standard 4x12 cab in mono mode. Somebody else give these a try and let me know what you think. Note that I adjusted my settings for the band mix, so make sure you turn the master up!
Master 12 o'clock
------------------------------------------- Rhythm
NSS: Thresh: -61.8 dB Release: 0.28 sec Attack: 0.4 msec
AMP: Recto (US) CH3 Gain: 10:00 o'clock Bass: 10:30 o'clock MID: 2:00 o'clock High: 10:30 o'clock Presence: 12:00 o'clock Level: 1 o'clock
This setting doesn't sound really good until you crank the amp. Like I said, put the master on 12 o'clock. It sounds great in the mix.
---------------------------------------------- Lead
NSS: Thresh: -61.8 dB Release: 0.28 sec Attack: 0.4 msec
DIST: Tube 9 Drive: 0 Tone: 5 Level: 5
Amp: Triple 6 CH2 (High Gain) Gain: 12 o'clock Bass: 12 o'clock MID: 5:30 o'clock (maximum) High: 11:00 o'clock Presence: 10:30 o'clock Level: 5:30 o'clock (maximum)
Delay: D-Delay Time: 690 ms Regen: 31.3% Stereo: 0% Mix: 21.9 % Level: 0.1 db
The delay seems to be a bit too much unless playing with the band, and then it's fine. The Triple 6 CH2 gives a very smooth and mid rich lead sound that I love. These settings cut through the mix wonderfully, and it doesn't sound harsh at all.
What do you think?
