The MULTIAMP arrived yesterday, and I have been spending quite a bit of time with it. To be honest, I'm having some mixed emotions about it. There seems to be some good tones in it, yet a lot of tones sound very harsh and digital. And where is the volume??? I am running it in stereo, which I guess cuts some volume, but I would think that if I turned up a power amp with this much wattage half way up, it would shake my walls. Instead, it's barely at bedroom volume, certainly not loud enough to gig with. I've been trying to load various artist presets, and I have noticed that a few of them are actually pretty loud as opposed to most that are not. They are set to the same level (around 2:00) as other patches, yet they are quite louder. What's the secret? Also, there doesn't seem to be any guts or "oomph" to the tone, and adding more bass doesn't help. It all seems rather thin sounding.
I'm getting a Speakon cable so that I can try running in bridged mode to see if that helps the volume. But at this point, I have to say I'm disappointed in a lot of the tone, and especially the volume of the MA. Maybe I need to keep working with it, but I'm really leaning toward not keeping it.
If anyone has any thoughts or tips to walk me back from the edge, please let me know!

I run my MULTIAMP through two 1x12's and never have the master volume above half for gigging, and we have a real loud drummer too.

Yes, it's strange, I own the mono version with the DV Mark C112 standard cab (150W) and I can't put the volume above half too because it's too loud... And the sound really good. Try to change your HP cables. Did you try it in 'mono' mode (you can set it in settings) to compare ?

Guys, thanks very much for the replies, I appreciate it! I just picked up a Speakon cable and plugged it in, which seems to automatically put the unit into mono Bridge mode. Wow, what a difference! Seems to have plenty of volume now, and also some added "guts" to the tone. I'm starting to warm up to this thing now. I'm planning to work with it some more this evening and then decide what to do with it. Thanks again!

There's plenty of grunt in there, I often use the EQ in one of the slots and that can help a lot.

I found that it depends on the Ohm rating for the cab. 4 or 8 ohm cabs and it sounds fantastic.. 16ohm cabs and you have to run it pretty loud to get heard.

Matt D, that's a good point. I am running it into a Port City OS212 cab that I wired with a switch for mono or stereo. Each speaker is 16 ohms, so running in stereo the MA is going against 16 ohms per channel. Running in mono is 8 ohms (the speakers are wired in parallel), so that seems to make a big difference.

Hi rickeb1,
you need to manually switch between bridged and stereo mode in the system menu. If you use the Speakon output then set it to bridge. When using the 1/4 Inch Speaker Outputs (1 or 2) then change it to stereo. The Poweramp is very loud! Try to adjust the level of the presets!
About the sound: take your time in building your patches. If you are playing with a band then adjust them when playing together at rehearsal volume. Any digital amp has some learning curve. Use the pad switch with high output pickups as well and try different amp models - the tones are there.

Acker, thanks for the tips! I should be spending my time right now experimenting and playing with all of the cool options in this unit. But, I loaded up the artist patches from Fabrizio "Bicio" Leo, and can't stop playing! The MA is so inspiring right now! Thanks to you all for bringing me down from the ledge, I'm really starting to love this unit!
