I have posted some comments on this forum about how I didn't care for the progressive model so much. Suddenly, that opinion has completely changed. So I decided to turn the amp up pretty loud and suddenly I dialed in a magical EQ setting by accident. I was getting some wonderful Dream Theater crushing rhythm sounds. Here are my EQ settings. Make sure you turn the master half way up (I have it set low in the pic) .You will blow the roof off! There is some serious power here. I used a little more mid and gain (a touch less bass) for my solo tone. Note that I'm using a 4x12 DV mark cab and a PRS SE 7 string. Using the Progressive model with these EQ settings for rhythm gives me a very focused sound with plenty of low-end (which the DV mark cabs handle well). It really sounds amazing. I can't believe my ears, and I have owned this amp for almost a year now. I realized that the mid control is extremely sensitive. I normally turn the mids all the up on the lead channel, but that doesn't work well with this monster. Someone else give this a try and let me know what you think. Try playing some of your heaviest Dream Theater riffs. Mark IV!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop playing it! The room is shaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Blade.
This thing is no joke! I used those EQ settings at band rehearsal last night, and I was floored. It's brutal.
For lead, I added delay, pushed the gain to about 5/10 , put the mids at about 6.0/10, and turned the channel volume all the way up. I will need to adjust this a little more, and I'll post my lead EQ settings once I'm settled on what I want.

Do you use the noise gate with this amp? IMHO is noisy.

I always use a gate after the amp model for my rhythm and lead sounds. It's pretty transparent. No noise

I just tried it without the noise gate, and it was not noisey at all. I use passive pickups though. What kind of pickups are you using?

Try it with the warmer. I like it. I also use the eq.
I think that this piece is only going to get better and better, especially as we learn more about programming it. I'll try your settings sometime this weekend if I can and let you know how it sounds.
Try adding the warmer. It is great! I use it after the amp.

Gotta try those settings...Unfortunately i've got a shitty Marshall 4x12....Not that the cab isn't good, it's just not the right thing for progressive metal...Anyway I'm happy you did found some cool setting with that amp

Just got back from rehearsal with my Mark V. Now I remember why I bought it. Sounds amazing. Also remember why I bought a modeler. Hurts my back to carry it.
FWIW, I use 2 bag end 1 12 cabs made for guitar. Sounds great. Have also used Tonkerlites with great results.
Try the eq settings. Hope it helps.

I tried those parametric EQ settings, and they didn't work me. I preferred the sound without it. What actual EQ settings do you use, undertyrat? I've never owned the real Mark IV or V, so I just picked an EQ I thought sounded really good.

I looked at the picture of those settings and they may be the ones I used for the Bogner model when I first got the MULTIAMP. Sorry about that. I'll try to look everything over when I get home tonight and let you know. I have used it with my band and they all liked the heaviest preset I set up. It's based on the progressive model which is a Mark V.
Maybe I'll plug it into my 4x12 tonight and see how it goes. The cab sim is off I believe.
My suggestion is to program it at a loud volume. That way it should have a consistent sound and feel when you crank it.
