Live I use my MULTIAMP direct via XLR into the desk using cab sims.
The last two gigs I haven't been happy with my sound. Since then I have noticed that the master volume had been turned up.
After reading the manual it suggests that you should have the master volume turned off.
Could this be the cause of the issues I had recently? Would the master volume effect the sound?

Hi nightrain10, sorry but I don't understand very well what happend! If you are using the MULTIAMP connected via XLR, the CAB slot could be disabled ... it is indifferent!... the CAB slot is used only with the unbalance out (1/4)! the MASTER volume could be used if you want to have also the real CAB in the same time (in this case the CAB slot MUST to be disable!), you can be set the MASTER volume to 0, it doesn't affect the volume of the XLR out. The switch on the back pannel have to be -10db (XLR). You can control the volume for each preset with the level in the "speaker menu".

Hi Lucat,
Thanks for the reply. I'm using the level control and option in the cab sim to control the volume. It has been sounding great until recently.
I'm aware the volume control doesn't have any bearing whilst connected via XLR. Though it does state that you should have it "switched off" when connected this way.
It's interesting that you suggest that the switch should be set at -10db. That's something I'll have to check!

Hi nightrain10, the volume of output XLR is very high, if you don't want that the sound engineer uses a PAD (-10db or -20db) on the MIX, I suggest you to not exceed 0db as "level" (I know the factory presets often use 5.6db !!)

Hi Lucat,
Thanks for that. It may be a cause of the issues I've been having.
I have noticed that my signal to the desk was quite hot. So I've had to turn the gain on the channel down. This should help things hopefully
Thanks!!

Hi. Just read your post. The xlr outs are independent of the master volume but are linked to the channel volume so make sure you have a consistent volume for all of your channels. That should help. Also, the cab sim goes to the xlr outs regardless of it being on or off on the preset.
I think changing the level to -10 may be helpful if your bad sound is due to clipping. Also, you may want the same cab volume on the sim. I usually use zero but have had it up to 5.
I wonder what changed to make it sound bad? A new mixer, sound man, etc? Maybe work backward to pinpoint the problem. It may not be the MULTIAMP. Try adjusting the trim pot on the board to get a good input volume.
Good luck.
