Any of you guys play this unit through a 4x12 live with a band?
I just bought one and I'll be bringing it to rehearsal. I was wondering if anyone had tips. I do find that leaving the cab sims on makes it sound fuller. Does anyone else do this?
Thanks,
Mike

I've used it with a 4x12 at home and it's very loud. If you have the stereo version make sure it's set to mono and you use the mono speaker out.

Hi Mike,
I leave the cab sims off, when playing through a 4x12 Cabinet. I often use one EQ Block to boost some lower frequencies a bit - but once our Bass player joins us, it becomes clear that those low frequencies are often just too much in the mix. You you should take your time adjusting your presets at the rehearsals - when playing loud!

Okay cool. I'll give that a shot using the parametric eq.
I hope you don't mind but I'm going to be bombarding you guys with questions, lol. Actually it's working well so far. I have a Ground Control Pro set up for midi which works great.
What kind of SD card do you recommend? I have a 4g SDHC card ready to go. Will that work?

What are you trying to do? Those are the files for performing a firmware update...

Ok! Then follow the instructions from the DV Mark Website:
- Please read all the instructions carefully before downloading and installing the Firmware Update on your MULTIAMP. DOWNLOAD the Firmware update .zip file by clicking on the button "MULTIAMP NEW FIRMWARE UPDATE V 4.0 - DOWNLOAD IT NOW!!!"; Unzip the files; Connect the SD card (max size 8Gb) to your computer (using a card reader if necessary), be sure the SD card is formatted in FAT 32 format; Drag and drop (or copy and paste) the unzipped files from the computer onto the SD card; Turn off the MULTIAMP; Insert the SD card into the MULTIAMP and turn it on; At the “SYSTEM” menu choose “Firmware update” option and follow the instructions that will appear on the display; Do not switch off the unit during the upgrade; When the upgrade procedure is complete a message will appear on the display asking to turn off the unit, wait 5 seconds and then turn it on.

Thanks. So if I see those two files, hex and ldr, I just drag those over to the SD? I guess my confusion is the unzip. Do I have to unzip those files?

No, just unzip the archive downloaded from the dv mark website. Make sure to copy all four files to your SD Card (Format it to FAT32 before). Then use the System Menu -> Firmware Update.

In rehearsal I play on a 4*12 slanted ENGL cab with cab sim off and just a raw 5150 (heavy 51) preset with no effects for my main sound. It roars ^^
I've tried leaving the cab sim on but I don't like it at all for my kind of sound (modern rythm metal). I feel it blurs my tone.
IMO that's where the MA shines : it sounds good right out of the box without any endless tweaking.

I use the MA with two DV mark 4x12 cabs in stereo without the cabinet model and it rocks. It also sounds great with one cab in mono.
