Hi hideyet, could you please tell on what amp you still find the digital swirl?

Yes, I use Ecstasy CH3 for all my High Gain settings, gain at 3/4. It's more pronounced with High Output pickups/Bridge pickups (I use a Bill&Becky L500Xl, The Dimebag/Nuno Bridge pickup, Pad at -6dB) than with single coils pickups (Telecasters in my case, Pad at +6db to reach a comparable output level) As I said the V4.0 is far better than V3 for digital swirls, but I think it still can be optimized in my opinion...

Anyone using the midi functions ? I recently got the midi pedalboard, it's really small and well build but for now I only use it in program change mode, unless I want to save a specific on/off slot setting to a preset.

Hi, I have a MULTIAMP and i love it, really love it, but I'd like to ask you if you have identified any change in the Darkface amp (CH 1) after the release of firmware 4.0? I have noticed that: when I use the simulation of darkface (I had already all my personal clean preset stored in the user bank n.1 that used the darkface as a main amp, before installing a new firmware 4.0) and when I insert changes, and after save and store it, and afterwards I try to recall it (for instance after a preset change from distorted preset to a clean preset using the darkface amp), the sound is extremely sharp and full of high frequencies, totally different from the sound stored 1 minute before, as if the equalizer was changed. Substantially the sound even if saved correctly, with the correct equalization, when I recall it – it changes! It happens only with the my own preset which use simulation of the darkface amp, but I haven’t tested the other amp-simulation, because I use only 4-5 amp-simulations in all (mostly darkface for clean, UK '75 for crunch and Heavy '51 for the other stuff)
anyone had this problem or noticed something similar?
Sorry for my awfully bad english writing, I'm from Italy
thanks
Alessandro

My quick word on the V4.0 update:
- The overall sound has improved, it's even sounding better now. Very, very 'tubey' sounding, I love it.
- I am really found of the Maragold clean channel. Full of warmth, a little dirty, really that good imo. the distorted channel is good also, but definitly not suits to my style/needs
- amplitube: good distorted channel, i'm not that impressed by the clean channel
- Warmth effect: I'm still in doubt about this one... it really acts like an EQ filter, cuts a lot of highs... not really sure about it, unless maybe if I build a sound from scratch around it
- spring reverb: good, but not suitable for what I seek (ie long hall reverbs...)
- new delays : there's a lot of fun to have playing aroud with the different types of delays. The modulation delay is something really worth to try.
- new midi implementation : my HUGE let down of this version... As I use my presets like "pedalboard with 8 pedal slots", I was very comfortable with the philosophy of turning on/off a slot using CCs. I really don't see the point of using CCs turning on/off effects by type, which doesn't let you choose when you use multiple occurences of the same effect (ie: EQ in my case), or won't be of any use if the effect you want to turn on/off is not placed in a slot.

Doomfred do you really think that overall sound has improved? I didn't feel any changes in sound (only the problem I've discovered with the use of Darkface amp-simulation after the new firmware release) , but i really like new feature, new FX and the Maragold Clean and Lead Channel (CH.3). Personally I reaaly don't like the Amplitube, it sound too dark to me, even with the (inside amplitube) warm parameter setted to zero, very unusable for my purpose. MULTIAMP is a very very underrated machine in my opinion, every possessor of Fractal AXE FX II or Kemper that i know can't belive the sound quality of my MULTIAMP and, of course, the price (in Italy mono version is affordable for 1000 Euro)....for me even better than Kemper and different in the premises, but similar in sound quality to Fractal.

Anyway i've noticed that famous "swirling" thing on the XTC CH 3 that hidedyet talked about...Unfortunately they didn't solve the problem complitely.....

To me the sound is more realistic and tubey than before, really great. I didn't have the time to really try the new amps.
