Is anyone having any luck with the Progressive model? I am not getting any useable tones from it; it sounds harsh. Any tips for getting Dream Theater rhythm and lead sounds? Can you post your EQ settings?

Got the same issue, i can't really get close that much to that progressive/Dream theater sound, i mainly think that also because there's no Parametric EQ in the amp...Hope they'll put it in the next update... The only thing that i can tell you, try just by making little changes and then listen very carefullly to them when you tweek the sound. Also a good idea is to low down a bit the low frequencies to get a more tighty sound. Let me know if you get something good!!!

Still no luck here. I'll keep using the tripple rec for rhythm and DV mark tripple 6 channel 2 for lead.

I know what you mean (by the way the triple 6 on channel two is huge, totally love it!!!) Unfortunately neither i have found a good setting with that amp... :/ Maybe it's just because it's a "new amp" (it was added just in firmware 3.0)...

To be fair, I have never owned the Mesa Boogie Mark IV or V, so I don't know what to expect.

I have to use the TS9 model with no distortion before the DV Mark Triple 6 crunch channel, or it will be too loose. I may try to use it for rhythm at some point.

Yeah neither i've never owned a mesa mark actually... To solve that loose problem, i just put a Parametric EQ after the amp and turn the frequencies around 50/70 Hz down a bit.

I'm using the standard 4x12 DV mark cab. It's the best cab ever! By the way, I finally tried the XLR directly to the PA today. All I can say is WOW! It sounds great. I'm thinking about getting the new 2x12 neoclassic to stack on top of my 4x12. I could also use it alone for smaller gigs. I think they're really expensive though

Thanks for that Triple 6 ch2 tip, have to try it in the rehearsals on Thursday. I always use eq with my presets because without it MA sounds too thinny for some amp models. I'm just not fully sure what settings I should use. So do you guys have some recommendations how to eq high and low in MA, what settings are suitable or best? For example how to deal with eq Mode values: Peaking, L Shelf, H Shelf..

Well buddy the main 3 frequencies that i set are: 50 hz (maybe turn it up, but if i do that way i turn down, way down the bass on the amp settings) 750 hz (a bit down for the rythm stuff) and sometimes i turn up some high frequencies, to make the sound a bit tighter, that's it. Sometimes i even use more than 1 EQ block per presets
