I'm thinking of getting an hd 500 to fill in the missing functions and effects of the MA.. the HD 500 has loads of delays, reverbs chorusses, filters, wahs univibe and a looper and by connecting it with the 4 cable method you can place anything before the MA or after its loop but it also can send midi preset changes to the MA with each preset in the hd an you could also connect a extra midi controller to the hd 500 to switch the effect blocks on or off in the MA just something I came up with what are your thoughts? (I know people are gonna say tone suck an fuck line 6 but i think thats just a matter of settings..)

IMHO, you'll lost a part of the interest of the MA: all in a box (and awesome sound)and less cables. Effects on the MA are good enought for me.
4 cables, midi cable, power supply for the HD (I dont know if it can be powered by the MA), plus extra midi controller. I'm trying to imagine... no.
