I bought this because I have an aversion to menu driven digital rigs. The MULTIAMP looked so simple. I didn't want the complexity of an AxeFx. But having received this a couple days ago, I struggle with trying to find a simple amp setup. I find it unyielding in my attempts to simply assign amps to the three channel buttons, something I thought would already be setup. I keep going in circles trying to wrestle a simple amp sound out, but I am locked into patches. I'm going to spend a little more time with the "manual" before I send it back, but so far, it don't look good. This forum is really needed. i only wish it was already more established so I could peruse the posts and maybe find what I'm missing.

Hi Mr Dan,
That's why I set up this place because I feel it's a great sounding unit, more simple than most to use BUT there is a total lack of info out there. The manual is very basic, there's little info on the site, the Facebook page is mostly ads for Andy James and co, and there's not much on YouTube.
It's a million times easier than an Axe FX I would imagine and a great unit for getting great sounds, you won't get a Dumble, Friedman patch or whatever but you will get great, giggable tones !!
Switch all your fx blocks off etc and work a simple amp patch first, you can add in later.

Agreed. Just start with a nice clean tone. I am reprogramming it all the time as I learn more about it. Build a clean amp with a user patch. Just use the amp in one block and take it from there. Turn the cab block off.

I've never tried an Axe fx, but i would really love to... My brother has got a Kemper profiling amp, and i tried, it's a good unit but still not good enough as the MULTIAMP.
I mean, the sounds and the amp are really well done, very close to the amps; but the dynamic, the response and the way they react as a real amp are way worse than the MULTIAMP.... It's a good unit, but i personally prefere the MULTIAMP... I also have to say that one is a profiler and one an amp modeller so they're quiet different.

I just use mine as a preamp and power amp. I don't try to use FRFR that much. I have some small Carvin monitors that I've used but I like real speakers. That may change but for now that's the way I'm using the MULTIAMP. Maybe down the road I'll try it strictly as a modeler but for now I'm good.
For me I had mine for a couple of months before I got the hang of it. I don't want to tweak all night and just use it for basic sounds (for now). That's my suggestion - start with a good amp tone, use it in mono just like you would a tube head, turn the cab sim off. After you get that down, try a little reverb and delay. Then add an effect or 2.
Sometimes I put the blues driver pedal effect after the amp and it sounds more full, more tube-like. Try it!

Preamp and poweramp for me too, I never use the cab sims as I use mine for live work. I haven't used it for recording yet.
I was running mine in stereo which sounds great in the house, not really sure you can tell the difference live ? Also most sound guys just mic one cab anyway.

I haven't got the possibility to play the MULTIAMP in stereo (as i said i've got the mono one) i just know that Marco Sfogli really loves using it in stereo in particular in live situations, he says that the Delays are way better than in mono version...
